One, two, three, four, five.
Once I caught a fish alive.
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Then I let it go again.
Why did you let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on my right.
History:
As with numerous counting-based nursery school rhymes, it includes a musical counting to ten through unforgettable rhymes, and a narrative to encourage kids to pay attention and repeat it. The query and reply arrangement of the subsequent verse is an additional frequent characteristic of rhymes, as it engages a youngster and encourages them to have fun.
